Default First Car Advice? ~$20k

Hey, I'm looking for something around 20k or more that I'll mostly be using in the city and to commute to school (which is outside of the city).

Things that I'm looking for:

New or Possibly Certified Pre-Owned
No large cars (pretty much something like a sedan or a coupe)
Decent sized trunk
Reliable
Alright/Decent MPG (something like ~18/~25 at least)
Something fast would be nice as well (V6 at least)

I've considered the following so far, but I'm kinda stuck on what to get.

2010 matrix
mazda 2010 speed3
Honda Accord Coupe
RX-7
Pontiac G8

Suggestions and opinions would be appreciated, thanks!

haha yeah I had to throw the g8 in there even though it's not very fuel efficient. If I do try to go for it, should I be getting the regular one or the GT with the V8?

As for the Cadillac CTS, it was on my list as well, but I guess I forgot to mention it. Thanks.

Yeah, the top three choices I have up there were the most "reasonable" ones that I could think of, but I got stuck on which one to get since they are all very nice.

20k? I would get a used mazdaspeed3 GT if I could find one, or a cobalt ss/tc.

Kinda want to stray away from BMWs, since I already know a lot of people that have them, especially ones in the 3 series.

well then what about a 7 series lol

Any way you could also look at, Dodge Charger, Pontiac GTO or G8 (both are good cars), Or (I'll say this for 1200) a Mustang.
