first off i need an economical car. im buying it with my own money, paying my own gas an insurance, so i need something reliable that wont break down. its obviously gonna be a used car. i dont know much about cars so i dont know how many miles a used car should have if i wanna buy one. my plan with m money is...i have 1500 saved up right now. im working part time because of school but im saving every penny i can. i hope to have around 4-6000 dollars by then. and if im lucky my parents will be able to help me out just a little bit. i know its not much. should i wait a little longer and buy something better? im really desperate for a car so i can be more independent an not have to relie on my parents and friends all the time..i hate that. anyways i wanna get something decent, im not expecting some extravagant. but i also dont want something shitty and embracing to drive around. as long as its got 4 wheels, ac, a radio and can move...and also, not a hatch back, im not a big fan of those. |

Honda civic. Cheap, reliable, great fuel economy, easy to maintain.

Private seller. Miles mean nothing if the car was poorly maintained. check to see the engines runs fine / tranny shifts nicely. as for maintenance records on the vehicle. etc..
