Swap GenI engine to 97 eclipse - CarForums.net

I have a 97 eclipse. &nbsp;A friend told me that I should think about swaping a first Gen. engine into it instead of rebuilding the second gen engine that is in it. &nbsp;I want to do some performace upgrades, maybe turbo. &nbsp;I want it to be fast but also something I can drive on a daily basis. &nbsp;Does anyone know about doing this kind of swap. &nbsp;Does it bolt right up? &nbsp;Is the first gen engine much easier/better to fix up? &nbsp;

not sure on spacifics but i have heard its a better built engine like stronger or something like that. &nbsp;i don't like the eclipse so im sorry no info really.
