Its not all wheel drive i know that, its a free moving switch, it pushes up towards the A and down towars the arrow, but i dont know what it does. i heard there is a "boost" button, but that button goes two ways, wouldent an overdrive be a single button? i dunno, if anyone can help ide appreciate it thanks

Hmm, my two bets...

1) Automatic/Manual mode? Maybe it takes out the transmission so that you can row manually through all four forward gears?

2) Doesn't make as much sense, but... overdrive on/off?

My friend's '90 Maxima has a switch where you can set the transmission for 'power' or 'economy'...

BTW, nice car. My dad's friend let me try his '95 740i and I thought it was the shit. Love the exhaust note, the steering feel, the comfort, the auto transmission that engine-brakes for you... definitely a sportier ride than the '95 S320 that I tried.

I think some of the pre '90 cars where marked A, S and * instead of E, S and * that we all know. It's very strange that your car should have this. Do you know in which country it was made???
