Independent Silicon Valley-based automaker Tesla has unveiled the Tesla Roadster â€” an all-electric car capable of accelerating to 60 mph in just four seconds, while offering equivalent mileage of 135 mpg, and a 250 mile range. The high-performance roadster is capable of hanging with a Ferrari F430, Porsche Carrera S, or BMW M5. The car has a more-than-sufficient top speed of 130 mph, the automaker said. Funding came from several big names in the technology world, including Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The car is expected to cost between $85,000 and $120,000. Deliveries of the Tesla Roadster in the United States are expected to begin next summer.

If its all electric how can it get a mile per gallon? wouldnt it be rated at miles per **watt or something or **amp?

i guess it's just really efficient with its power source.

That electricity comes from a Coal or Oil Power Plant and thats how they calculate the MPG. I don't think that anyone with that kind of money will care about fuel economy.

Pretty cool looking electric car. Go to a fellow Hybrid car owner and I would just laugh in there face hahahaha. My electric car does 0-60 in 4seconds how fast does your hybrid do it in like 4minutes
