I don't really have a favorite brand except for oil (Valvoline), I just always make sure & buy a good quality of part. You can buy a cheap part with a lifetime warranty but if you have to change it every 2 or 3 months it's not worth it.

Default Brands?

I use walmart supertech synthetic blend or full syn and I look for whatever filters are on sale. If you change oil & filter 5K miles and air filter 15K miles you shouldn't have to worry anout a long life filter. Plugs - definitely GM. The other stuff I have not had need of so can't make a suggestion there.

It's everyone's personal preference, but since you asked MINE:
air filter= Fram or K&N
spark plugs= Bosch
plug wires= Bosch
oil filter= Fram
oil= Quaker State
O2 sensor(s)= Bosch
fuel filter= Fram

last month, i gave my car a tune-up using all these part brands; haven't had a problem since.
