Exclamation '96 Chevy S10 Transmission

My transmission is slipping big time. I've never done any work on a truck and no idea where to start with asking mechanics and I don't wanna get ripped off. How much should it cost to repair my transmission?

check around for a good trans shop something that offers a warranty more than out the door.. and you should expect to spend about 600-800
for a rebuild

rev hit it right on the head, ask around and find somewhere with a 6 month or year warranty it might come in handy. you shouldnt spend more than 1k on a rebuild to go back stock

Make sure the tranny fluid level is ok and doesnt smell burnt it might be an easy fix as low levels and hopefully caught it before you did any damage
