Default How-to: Diffentiate between exhaust smoke colors

'White' smoke - usually indicates coolant related.

'Blue' smoke - usually indicates oil related.

'Blackish' smoke - is gas meaning your motor is running rich. (Or a 'white' smoke with strong gas smell).

The RX-7 is blowing WHITE smoke and smells like nastiness. Trust me I drove behind it a couple of weeks ago and I thought I may die.

WHat about raw fuel just spitting out the exhaust? And what about black chunks? Not smoke, but chunks?

Are you asking or are you going to post what those mean?

Dont forget that motors in colder climates tend to "smoke" white "smoke" in the morning or when its really cold.

Ive had ALOT of people come into the shop( sadly, its mainly womens) for condensation smoke thinking its a head gasket.

Now what about smell's in the exhaust, mine smells like oil but doesnt burn anything, yes teh exhaust pipe is heavily carbonated but other then changing out all the exhaust i doubt i can take care of that.
