If it hasn't become obvious, this forum is not import-friendly. As a guy that has nothing but V8 American vehicles in the driveway I'll be the first one to tell you that if you do a 4 cylinder right you have every opportunity to make more HP with what you have related to engine size. With that said, there's also no replacement for displacement. 300 or so HP out of a 4cylinder is friggin
great...and stock for a V8...but the 4 cylinder will beat the hell out of a stock V8 at 300+hp.

I'll probably get flamed too...but who cares. You learn to ignore the douche bags.

Yea he defently wouldn't have enough money.

My opinion still stands, camry. It'll be good on gas, cheap, and reliable. Who the hell cares if your friend has one. You're looking a car for yourself.

You can pick up an EG for $1,500 and a B16 or B18 complete swap for about $1,600. So lets rounds to, $3,200. not to bad.

Will it beat the hell out of the majority of other cars on the street and track? No. and I myself would go with the turbo D-series set up if i ever bought one. Only way to make power with a 4 banger.

Would be a fun reliable car though and still get mid 30mpg.

dude, wtf are you smokin.

if you honestly think that 300hp in a V8 is worse than 300hp in a 4 banger, that must be some awesome weed.

see, 4 bangers dont have this thing called "torque" or a " torque curve" of which a V8 DOES have.

go to school.

psh thats where your wrong mat, neither of those have any power curve compared to that of an electric motor.

lets see your V8 make a torque curve like that

ahh

see that?

torque drops when you need it the most, at the top of your RPM range when you are going faster and faster

advantage 1 for combustion engines

Combustion 1

Electric 0

you do realize that is the same for combustion engines.........

Difference is, the elctric has 100$ torque at 0 rpm. Notice they didn't feel like showing numbers untill 3k RPM.

I know the shell and engine can be had for heap, but if the OP doesn't have the experience or knowledge that won't help him. Also what you were saying was the opposite of what jay Mack or whatever his name is said.
