'05 Passat TDI "Emissions Workshop"

I bought a 2005 passat tdi wagon last week, with about 85000 miles. two nights ago, i was driving home and the check engine light came on and the dash reads "emission workshop". there is very little power in low gears, the turbo doesnt seem to be kicking in, and the car now goes very slowly uphill. i am very upset to say the least. i have researched and read many horror stories about problems and recalls with teh 2000 model, but dont know if these apply to 2005 models or not. any advice?

Take it back to where you bought it from and make them fix it.

I have a 2005 Passat TDI with 87000 that is doing the identical thing. What did you find out?

theres more than 1 thing that will cause an Emissions Workshop codes, the most common is an issue with the glow plugs...they aren't cheap to replace either.
