Overfilling the transmission fluid is not good.

Filling above the full line causes the fluid to foam. Also, excessive pressure buildup may damage the transmission. If you overfilled, get a thin hose and the gun from a squirt bottle. Insert it in and siphon excess fluid out.
When the level is high enough to get whipped up by the geartrain assembly in the trans, air bubbles develop and upset the hydraulic pressures that are trying to keep the clutches and bands from slipping. You can syphon some of the fluid back out through the dipstick opening.

are you running a manual trans??

If this is the case, 1st off be sure you are using gear oil, 90W (90 weight) which is brownish in color, do not use (auto) transmission fluid which is red in color. Second, there should be a fill screw on the side of the trans. If you fill it until the oil starts coming out the side of this then it is full.
At first I thought you were talking of an automatic transmission, which would have a dipstick. This is what I think raerae was referring to, which everything she said rings true for.

Please try to be more specific next time.
Ignorance is bliss. Go be happy.

Yes, it would have helped to know this was a manual to begin with...

sorry but, Judging from your posts, I would suggest taking it to your nearest local mechanic and letting them do any maintenance.
