Erratic idle, stalling, 91 Capri –

I have a 1991 Mercury Capri, standard trim (Non-XR2), manual transmission, and upon startup it runs normally, however, once it reaches operating temperature, the idle becomes erratic and may even stall out. Between 1000-3000rpm, with no throttle opening (while in any gear), it will misfire and shake the entire car. Nearly all the ignition components are new, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Any ideas?

It's usually located on the throttle body. Just remember to disconnect the battery's negative cable first when you're going to remove the idle control valve.
I have a license plate frame that says the same thing.

I'm quite incompetent with this machine. Hopefully you can help me locate it. I also checked all the vacuum hoses, they're all intact. The rough idle also carries through to a rough run when the throttle is held down to maintain any rpm, 1000, 1500, 2500, etc. The only time it's not giving me crap is when it's under load and near-open throttle.
Also, where did you get that LP frame? I WANT ONE! NAO! lol

If you don't know, then I would refer to a factory service manual. If not, get one of those books from Kragen's.
I got my license plate frame from cafepress.

New thought!
Could the timing be off slightly, or would that cause run problems at all temperatures?
