One word describes this car: AMAZING. GM really hit the nail on the head with this car; it surpassed all of my expectations. Besides the incredible performance of the car, the styling both inside and outside of the vehicle make this one spectacular car to own / drive. Priced very competitively, this is one of the most well rounded, attainable performance vehicles to ever hit the production line.

| CarForums.net Review of the 2006 Chevrolet C6 Corvette |
Price as tested- $45,900
Exterior
The exterior styling of the 2006 C6 Corvette is simply amazing. It comes standard with Xenon high-intensity projector headlamps, five-spoke Painted Aluminum 18" x 8.5" front and 19" x 10.0" rear wheels, composite body panels, and hidden antennas. The smooth look of the car continues from the front to the back, with electronic door handles located between the door and body panel, keeping the handle out of plain sight. I can't tell you how many people I picked up in our C6 that could not figure out how to open the doors. The stock exhaust outlets are aluminized stainless steel, and engine access is provided by a rear-opening hood, adding yet another cool feature to the C6.
Interior
The interior of the C6 is very simple, yet has a lot going on. The C6 we had came with heads up display, a very nice feature if you don't want to take your eyes off the road while driving. There are three different modes you can set the heads up display in: street, track 1, and track 2. One of the coolest features of track mode is a real-time g-meter also displays lateral acceleration.

When you sit back in the leather wrapped seats, you get a full view of the dash and gauge console. Everything is very stylish and Corvette branded, including the steering wheel, which holds audio control buttons on the right side. In the automatic transmission model, the steering wheel also houses the paddle shifter buttons on each side of the wheel.
The C6 also had a factory Bose stereo system that included an in-dash six-disc CD changer/MP3 player and XM Satellite Radio.
The last feature from the interior that is worth a mention is the push button starter and key system. The C6 uses an intelligent start system that starts and stops the engine with the push of a button. The factory alarm / remote entry control has to be inside of the vehicle to start the car, but once started can be put in your pocket even if you walk away from the car and the engine will continue to run until shut down. The car is a no-entry vehicle, and is very hard to steal with the electronic door handle poppers.
Performance
Now to talk about the REAL reason every car enthusiast would love to own this vehicle; it performs! It seems no matter what you are using this car for, it does a good job at it. The straight line performance right from the factory is incredible, but don't let that fool you into thinking this car can't handle. There have been news articles published recently where the C6 series Corvette beats its European competition around the track. The C6 comes standard with a four-wheel independent suspension setup including transverse composite springs. Four-wheel disc, antilock brakes help to stop this beast of car.
The C6 comes standard with GM's aluminum-block LS2 engine which produces 400 horsepower @ 6000 rpm and 400 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4400 rpm. This monster of an engine still manages to get a very impressive EPA estimated MPG 18 city, 28 highway with the standard six-speed manual transmission.
In stock form, the C6 Vette goes 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, with an overall top speed of 186 mph. Factory 1/4 mile times are listed anywhere from 12.7 sec @ 112 mph to 13.0 sec @ 108 mph depending on location. The C6 also pulled a .95g on the skidpad, and 62-0 mph braking distance is 110 ft. All of this boils down to the fact that no matter where you plan on taking this car, it WILL perform at the top of its class.

EPA Observed Fuel Economy (miles per gallon): 17 city 27 highway (automatic transmission)
Overall Score: 10 out of a possible 10
---------------------------------------------
High points: The car has a bit of everything. Exterior styling, straight line performance, handling, and a great looking interior. What more could you ask for in a sports car?
Low points: I can't truthfully say that I feel there is anything missing on this vehicle. It get's a 10 out of 10 rating in my opinion.
