I found some interesting ideas.

I have my own opinions, and want to see what others thing about it.

1)1g AWG with twin-charger
2)3000GT VR4 (V6 Twin Turbo) swap into a 1g
3)V8 swap.

So what do you guys think? This is just an outside the box thinking question. Obviously the smarter path would be to plain build the 4G63.

#1 and #3 would be cool...

#2 would not. 3kgt's are not cool.

:)

and which V8? i'm thinking at that point, a 240sx or RX7 would be a better platform. unless, of course, the V8 would be mated to an AWD drivetrain. interesting...

I like the twincharging idea. Do it. You won't.

1 or 3. I'm partial to 3, depending on the driveline used.

It would be cool to see a V8 swap into a gsx.

I'm with everybody else, either #1 or #3

I like the motor from idea 2, but drop it in a something crazy. like an old ass POS 2 door neon. imagine the reaction when somebody popped your hood. or better yet when you passed somebody like they were sitting still

I have seen a few v8 rwd swapped DSMs, they are already basically setup for it minus engine crossmember and steering rack mods.

I'm not asking because I'm going to do it.

I'm asking because all of these have actually been done. I think they are a waste of a time. The twincharging idea was pretty neat, because it gave the car alot of low end torque, but I think was a little over engineered.

The VR-4 was actually easier then you think and by swapping the VR-4 bell housing to the DSM AWD transmission. You not only get a better tranny, but you get options to build it (TRE, John Shepherd, etc.)

The V8... seen it done... don't know why you wouldn't just get a V8 car to begin with. There was actually no benefit from it. The car didn't have impressive numbers or didn't post any. And of course the car handled like a big ole' pile of garbage.

the vr4 swap would be interesting to see, but IMO you are being a bit general on the v8 swap, depending on the setup and how well it was engineered im sure you can make one handle better then stock with the v8.
