I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS engine (automatic transmission with tiptronic).

I don't know about engine sizes and what engines fit in what cars so I was wondering what cars (frame/shell) I can drop my engine into besides another same model eclipse. and if you know, do you know where I can find some of those frames/shells? Even if you know where to find some frame/shells of the same car I would really appreciate info on where to find them. Thanks guys!

Did you have to make 2 threads?

I put one in the Mitsubishi area and one in general automotive. I don't see the problem.

can you explain to me why?
i am on a tight budget and I can do the engine installation myself.

because it would be much more cost efficient to just buy another car and sell the engine.

good luck finding one as its not exactly a sought after car. best bet. a junkyard or craigslist and i'm sure just about all of them will have been in an accident with salvage titles or very close to.

EVO 8 motor and AWD drivetrain into an 2000-2005 Eclipse. It has been done and it works. You are going to need ALOT of money and knowledge friends to pull it off.

Depending on your budget you can make over 1000 AWHP with that engine.

The engine code is 4G63.

Have fun!

I just have the engine sitting around and a tight budget with no car. I was thinking that buying a shell and dropping this engine in would be my best choice due to my money problems.

it's not. if you have money problems, I suggest selling the engine and buying a cheap car (old toyota corrola, honda civic, ect) until you have some money.

Sorry buddy, but there is little market for the 4G64 from the 3g Eclipse. YOU may get $300, $500 max for that engine.

Oh and no it would not be cheaper to drop it in some random car.
