Whan I got it install in my 97 eclipse, it over heat and white smoke come out from the muffer when the car get realy hot! And when I drove it, it stalling and ideling, won't able to pick up speed eithere. Please help. Thank

turbos got it. Not uncommon when you buy motors from over there.

I'm running a brand new turbo td05 big 16g. So it can be the turbo and the head got no leak. But what I do know the if u got bad head gasket the head should be leaking oil and dark gray smoke should come out of your muffer. Mind got white smoke, so can anyone help plz!

white smoke, coolant burning=head gasket.
blue smoke, oil is burning.
dark gray smoke, neither oil, nor coolant, but wrong a\f mix

oh, black smoke, is also wrong a\f mix

Well, to start, you wasted your money. A 6-bolt from any DSM would be FAR cheaper and just as strong then any JDM motor. There are PLENTY of 6-bolts everywhere you look. I have 2 spares just chilling in my garage.

Either way you look at it, it is a smart move to refresh any engine you install into a car, especially turbo cars. Otherwise you might get an engine with a toasted ring or blown head gasket, etc.

You blew the head gasket or got it with a blown head gasket, either way, at the very least, you need to replace the head gasket and mill the head. It would be smart to rebuild the head. Valve seals on these cars go with high mileage and if the engine sat for a long time, then the seals probably have dry rot. New seals/guides would benefit you.

If I were you, I would save up and rebuild the WHOLE motor. Send the it to the DSM Graveyard. This is a shop that started with just a giant junkyard of Mitsubishi Cars (Mostly DSMs), but with an accessibility to many DSMs, started to experiment and found that EVO 9 pistons on 1g rods make a KILLER durable engine for ultra cheap. So have them build you a Frankenstein Motor amd a Frakenstein stage one head.


The bottom end with EVO 9 pistons runs $1599.00 and the head runs $499. And now you got an engine ready to hold over 500 Hp at the wheels with the right turbo and tuning.

So what's cause it to have overheat? My guest head gasket? :)
