the spring in my tensioner went out last week. i was only going about 35-40 mph. it caused my belt to jump time. i just fully rebuilt and ported my head less than a month ago. i am in the progress of putting in my new tensioner. i did a compression test and it wasnt pretty. but i know that i have to put it back on time to find out if i did bend my valves. is it possible that i didnt bend them?

you have to take the head off and check. if there are ANY scuffs at all, take it to a machine shop and have them check how well it seals. if it seals good and the valevs are just scuffed, it should be fine. if not, youll need new valves. then check the pistons. once again, if there are ANY marks, they may need to be replaced, depending on your judgement and how bad the scuffs are. in my opinion, if its stock bore and stock pistons, just buy new ones and throw them in. but thats up to you. also, get someone else who knows about DSMs and get their opinoin, it always helps to have a second opinion.
