alright i got a stock rs 97 eclipse
and i plan on swaping my 420a motor for the
JDM 4G63T GEN2 Silvertop motor

but it says it has a hydraulic transmission
what dose that mean???

my rs is a auto tranny, is it compatible?

another question.
i want to burn out in my eclipes. but as said before, its all stock with an auto tranny and the 420a motor... is it even possible?

This is the link to the motor i want to put in it

possible but not worth the money, sell the car and pick up a gsx or TSI...It'll cost you a lot less in the end

no clue on engine BUT

-Make sure your shifter is in Drive (D)
-Hold the brake
-Pump the gas pedal
-After a few revs of the engine, push down on the gas all the way and release the brakes.

Also, you could be driving slowly (10 km/h or 5 mph will do the trick). Then:
-Set the shifter to neutral (N)
-Press the gas pedal

At this point the engine should rev high with little pressure on the gas pedal since you are in neutral. While revving high, keep your foot on the gas and shift back to drive (D).

This is bad on the transmission if you get to the cut-off (or even the red area on the rpm meter). The second method must be done properly or you risk costly engine and transmisison repairs. This method will cause your tires to spin though.

Don't forget to leave the ebrake up while you're attempting the burn out

burnouts on a auto are really bad for your car. ESPECIALLY neutral drops.

yeah but i honestly think that a stock eclipse rs dosent have the hp or torque to do the burnout:confused:

your right it doesn't my first car was an auto non turbo talon, and it was slow and under powered.....
But if you pour bleach on the concrete that burnout as very possible without destroying your transmission doing a neutral drop.

just dont burnout and youll be fine. it'll **** up your trans, which will be more cash that you could have put towads the engine. and IMO, 4g63 swaps into an RS is a waste of time. you would need a different trans that doesnt bolt up to the mounts correctly, the engine doesnt bolt up either, meaning lots of fabrication, time and effort put into it. from what it looks like in your pic, you have some different shit done to your RS. just sell it for what you can get, buy a GST or GSX(GSX IMO, but thats cuz i own one.) and mod it then.
