because im starting to dout doing the swap so wich would be better

generally speaking, auto is best for drag racing, while manual is best for... just about everything else.
a different transmission won't give you more power. it may change your acceleration characteristics(different gearing), but won't add power.

in older cars, manuals are better to a point in the aspect that there is less parasitic loss and the ability to launch the car without any mods to the transmission. They also usually weighed less then the auto trans. the launching issue can be fixed in an auto however by puting in a stall and with an auto, you never have to worry about missing a gear.

you know better than that 57. autos suck way more drivetrain loss than a stick.
so technically, you will gain power. but not much if the car is stock.

Not to debate you, but doesn't power get lost in the torque converter on an auto? At least those without lockup...

yep, and the higher the torque converter is the more power it robs, say a 3500 TC vs a 1800 TC, the car with the 3500 TC will lose slightly more power to the wheels. But it's worth it having the higher torque converter.
