It's a lot of work and IMO not worth it. I'd just sell the car and buy a manual GSX it's not worth the money to do it yourself

it isn't worth it because you can just sell your car and get a manual GSX or better yet, a TSI AWD.

I'm saying it's not worth it because you'll spend more money than you will on the car to do the swap...I'm assuming you didn't click the link and see the parts you have to buy and the huge process it is to do it.

Honestly your best bet is to buy an AWD GSX or TSI shell with a blown motor, and just just swap your motor into that car then sell the car you have...Problem solved.

its a very time consuming swap and is not a fun project to take on. if your not mechanically inclined i wouldn't attempt it. If you can find all the parts for cheap it may be worth it.

Actually I would leave it Auto. People may poke fun at your. But the factory Automatic versions of Turbo Cars are actually faster then thier Manual counter parts. For example. MKIV Supra. DSMs, even turbocharged supercars like the Bugatti Veryon 16.4 is equipped with an Automatic Transmission. And just like a manual once you make a certain amount of power they need to be beefed up to handle the additional torque. The worlds fastest 16g powered car is an automatic Eclipse, running 10 seconds in the corner.

With that said, I just down right LOVE driving a manual over an auto. In the end, it's all about personal preference. If you really MUST have a 5-speed. Then your best options are:

1)Sell the Automatic GSX and buy a 5-speed GSX or AWD DSM
2)Find an AWD 5-speed with a blown motor and swap your engine from the Automatic into the 5-speed.
3)Find an AWD donor car and install the ENTIRE drivetrain, pedal assembly and clutch system (including the hydraulic system).

DO NOT, try to do it a peice at a time. You will likely end up junking the car.

I'm personally a bigger fan of the 1st gen over the 2nd gen. It's a matter of style in which you prefer. you can swap a 2nd gen motor into a 1st gen Though
