My exhaust manifold is cracked and I need to replace it. I am thinking about replacing it with a performance header and was not sure what to go with. Unfortunately, I am not loaded so I need to find the best deal possible. Any ideas on brands or websites to look for? Also, any other ideas for cheap performance upgrades?

ebay headers usually aren't that bad of quality, I would just recomend picking up a better gasket than the ones they come with

sure, go with the header, but like he said you'll want a better gasket. you can order a better one or you can just go get a good one from autozone or any performance shop.

Get an EVO 3 exhaust manifold and have ported. Cheap, durable and flows better then your factory one.

DO NOT get the tubular headers on eby. They crack, there is not proper reinforcements to support the weight of the turbo.

^^^agreed. do not get the tubular headers off ebay. they are shit. from experience, i wont go with anything else than an EVO III or a forced performance manifold. OEM and ebay tend to crack easily and that causes a lot of problems.... and theres always the saying "you get what you pay for". definately true.

i wouldn't think the stock cast mani would crack that easily. as everyone else has said though, most ebay manifolds will more then likely crack at one point or another.

Oh you forgot, FP. Probably the best cast manfiold every made.

Also for DSM-only bits that are both VERY inexpensive and EXTREMLY well built. Check out

www.punishment-racing.com.

For a while, they took the cheap ebay once, and re-enforced them. Then sold them at about $250-$300 with a lifetime warranty against crackers....er... I mean cracking.

Oh, and NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER buy from Slowboy Racing (SBR). These guys are probably the best shop in the world.... until the f*ck up your order. If you try to get an exchange, they will pretend to want to help. But they WILL NOT. They NEVER EVER give refunds, even if they are at fault. And Mike Huml (the owner) is a total douche.

They took 60 days to ship me a Fidanza Flywheel, that they claimed to have in stock. They made excuse after excuse, After about 70 days, I told them send me a confirmation number or I want my money back and in my email from SBR, I was told to "quit my bitching" and it will come when it gets in stock. When I told them I wanted my money back. They said they had to charge me a 20% restocking fee (the very definition of restocking, means that it is put BACK on the shelf AFTER it was sent out). I filed a dispute with paypal, it got rejected because it was past 60 days, so I filed a dispute with my Credit Card Company and got my money back.

There are plenty of people that got the wrong turbo, or turbo was stated in stock but was not parts designed and manufactured by SBR (exhaust manfiold) that crack or break within 3000 miles. All these people SBR said they WOULD help, but in the end failed to deliver.

This is a SBR ripping off another DSM shop.
