Hey this is my first post. I have a 92 eclipse gs  but i wanted to get  an engine swap in it, whats the best engine that would fit? thanks for the help.

Only engine that will fit good, and runs right is the 4g62 that is in the gsx and gst.  I'd sel it and buy one, it will be less costly.

I just swapped the 1.8 in my 92 Eclipse for a 2.0  and had to rewire the engine bay and that car has been sitting inmy garage for three and a half months now and I'm still having problems with the wiring.  It's not worth the work it takes to do it you'd be better off just buying a car with that engine already in it.

I've said before and I'll say again,  It is foolish to swap a turbo enging in an older eclipse unless significant exterior/electronics accessories has been added,  however if you are set of swapping the engine,  the only one that is easy enough is the 4g63  found on the GST and the GSX's,  however  if you dont want to buy new axles and such get the GST version.  it already has the 2wd ECU and such.  good luck.  Oh yeah,  and go with the 2.0.
