my cars been leaking coolant for a wile now and its never bothered me because id just put some coolant in every few months, but today one of the hoses broke/came loose and i tried to see if i could just put them back together but it didnt look like it was going to hold. i took some pictures of it just so you guys might have a better idea of what im talking about. just click it to make it bigger.

The green circle is the hose that came loose, and the blue circle is where it looks like it goes. it looks like there is a metal thing that holds the pipes together.

so what i need to know is this just a new hose fix or is it an expensive fix where i need a new everything?
Thanks for any help.

simply put, you'll need a new hose.

should not be an expensive fix.

honestly that looks like the hose was never supposed to come apart, almost like the AC lines above it? that'll probably make it an expensive hose... but its still a hose. does that go to a bypass valve? that's around where they are on the trucks

Is that rust on the inside of the lower piece or dex-cool chunks?

i went to get a quote on it today and the guy wanted $500 to fix the pipe, so i went home and fixed it for less than $10.

im not sure whats on the bottom part but its plastic, so it couldn't be rust

how did you fix it? tape? JB weld?

might want to do a coolant flush with some dishswasher detergent and clean it out well.. then switch to the good old green stuff

no, i just put a hose connector connecting the two sides of the pipe and hosed clamped both sides tight. and now no leaks or nothing.
