I have a 96 eclipse and my exhaust is poppin when i back off the throttle, does anybody know what this is?  I figured i messed up somethin by revvin up too high, but im not sure.

Is the exhaust factory or after-market...sounds to me like an exhaust leak

Does it go down as the RPM's  lower?  Cuz if it is then its just backpressure.

Anyway my dads passat has a little hole in the exhaust and when he revs it a little and then lets go, you hear it pop.  

That is, if its stock, as mentioned above, because usually on a stock exhaust that doesnt have a hole, you hear little to no backfiring at all.
