Battery Light comes on. Alternator failed on Hwy. with another car, I charged the battery and drove until the was about to stop. Recharged the battery with jumper cables, I did this several times. Got car home.

Replaced the alternator from junk yard, puts out 14.5vdc. At idle engine is fine, but it bogs down after 1/2-3/4 of a mile and dies. Plenty of power and cranks ok. Replaced the spark plugs, Restarts when cold, same thing again. Is there a computer or sensor out of wack?

sounds like maybe the fuel pump is going out
