I rolled my 1994 Chevrolet Corsica yesterday. And the motor is still in great shape. So I'm wondering what all Body style's Can I drop my motor down into?

There's not a lot you'd want to, to be honest.

Make it into a table. It will be the most useful 3100 in the history of 3100 series motors.

yeah the 3100 is crap in my opinion, they eat headgaskets like they're going out of style

That's rare. And usually, anything relating to the valves that need to be replaced are the top end, after the head gasket blows.

when i was rebuilding it, i read it in a service bulletien off alldata as a common problem.

Really? In the 14 I serviced (3.1 MPFI and 3100 included), only one had an issue with the cam, and that was because the owner tried a custom grind with a dremmel and tried to get it done on warranty.

i think they're also famous for bad intake gaskets, and of course GM's crappy dexcool (along with other engines)

The intake and head gaskets go hand-in-hand, when one set goes, the other isn't too far behind.

gotcha. my dad and my cars (both with 3100 engines) both blew head gaskets within 2 months of each other, and we both maintain our cars well. nature of the beast i guess

3100's blow. 3400's aren't much further behind, though they're a little better. 3500's are devoid of the problem (so far.)

Well personally I like the 3100. It's the only Engine(car) that i've owned that could handle my crazy driving. Hence why I asked for body styles I could drop it into. No Offense To Anyone But I Did NOT Ask For All The Problems With The Motor. I've put about 65,000 miles on this motor. And I have never had ANY problems with the motor.

Just Saying

Just wait 'til about 80-85,000. That's when the intake gaskets will go, and the head gaskets aren't far behind around 100,000. I thought my 3100 was the best thing since sliced bread, too. Then it blew an intake and sprayed coolant out the back of the engine like blood from a jugular. And I considered that lucky... at least it didn't blow into the engine, like they're more likely to do, where they wreak havok on your engine's internals.

Lmao, story time with me...Spazzy B.

had a '90 chevy beretta gt with the 3.1L V6...driving home from a little trip the headgasket blew and the car died instantly. Towed the car to a shop I was working at, pulled the head and oil pan. Hello mr.cylinder #3 piston rod...how are you today? :eyeroll:
