if youre putting in a 3800 series make it a supercharged one from a GTP or a Park Avenue Ultra. Automatic w/ Shift Kit. A friend of mine did it on a Chevette. The point of it, idk, but he did it.

x2. The Ecotec motor is good for quite a bit of power when you really start digging into it.

Is a 99 an Ecotec?

Should be an L61. But the turbo 3800 is no slouch. There's a turbo 3800 Fiero in the 10's, a twin-turbo 3800 grand prix in the 9's, and a turbo firechicken in the 8's approaching 7's.

Not sure what is in the video,
Still the 99 Z24 factory motor will have more potential. Now before you get your pitch forks hear me out.... putting the V6 in that tiny ass engine bay will leave him NO room for a turbo system and he'd be lucky to fit a tiny supercharger in there with cutting the roof all to hell.
With a 4 cylinder he has enough room to put a GT42R if he wanted to and still keep the hood.

Oh yea, I forgot that have a factory supercharger. DOH!
Still, that picture almost looks photoshopped. There seems to be almost no room for the transmission. But I have seen crazier swaps before.

He can also gut the factory supercharger in favor of a turbo. That's what most people do after they've gone to the limits of the factory supercharger of the L67. The only issue, I believe with doing a turbo L67 in the Z24, is figuring out a decent exhaust routing for a downpipe.

Define gut?
I think there will be more issues. Where to mount the turbo, how to get all 6 cylinders to hit the turbo, cold side piping routing, I/C or no I/C, and if with the I/C you got to factory in I/C piping. hot side piping routing.

You can turbo your twin cam that is already in there. Or go with a eco swap the 3800 requires way to much work. you basically have to make a custom frame plus rewire everything, the eco is much easier and about the same power.

Basically, leave the supercharger housing. Let the turbo blow into it. Leaves an already strong top-end in place.

All of it has been done before, just take cues from the past completions. Hell, the J-body is simply, at least in the front end, a mini-W-body, and there's a number of turbo 3800 kits for the W-body available, the best one being the one from Cartuning Performance, IMO, because there's little to nothing that needs to be thought of/done.
I'd say a turbo ecotec is the way to go, as it's lighter, but the 3800 is an option.

Alright. I'll concede. I don't know much about the J-bodies.

Trade it in and use that money as a down payment on a new Camaro.
