Hey

A few days ago my "Service Vehicle Soon" light came on. I knew I was close to needing an oil change, so I changed the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs. The light remained on. I drove the vehicle for about an hour and the light went off. Is there a chance the plugs and oil were the key? Or does the light go off from time to time kind of like the "Change Oil" light does? Should I cancell my appointment with the mechanic?

According to AutoZone's free diagnostic they said I have one of the following:

1. Purge or vent solenoids defective
2. Check connector and wiring
3. Fuel saturated vapor canister
4. Failed EVAP vent solenoid

PS: I drive a 2000 Chevy Camaro V6.

sometimes the light will come on if there is a problem with the emissions system. if the light goes out than u might be ok. if it comes back again, i would have it checked out. if it stays on and never goes out than u need to pull the code and see what u get. the worst case scenario is a flashing light which indicates a misfire.

i actually had the same code for my car, it was a sheared wire which had to be re-done. It honestly never affected my car, but it just bothers me having that light on. See if your car acts weird when the light it on.
