General Motors India along with LGB, unveiled India’s most powerful single seater. Powered by the same 1.6 petrol engine that powers the luxurious Chevrolet Optra this car has a top speed of 220 kmph and does the sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 8 seconds. The Optra 1.6 engine has been modified to deliver 120 bhp in this single seater racecar. Mr. Rajeev Chaba, Managing Director- General Motors India, Mr. Akbar Ebrahim, CEO LG Sports, and Mr.Sivakumar, Director LGB and Bros ltd jointly unveiled India’s most advanced racing car.
Chevrolet will be the sole engine supplier in the 2006 Formula Rolon Single Seater Car Championship. The constructor for these cars will be LG Sports. A total of 12 cars will be fielded for the championship, which will be run over 8 rounds next year
GM India has had a long association with motor sports in India and were the first to sponsor Narain Karthikeyan when he was a budding racer. GM India has also sponsored prizes for Go Karting events and also sponsors individual drivers for these races. Now for the first time since its reintroduction in the Indian market, the Chevrolet brand is entering into a direct association with high performance Indian motor sports.

Testing of this car has been done on Kari speedway, a high-speed motor race circuit owned by LG Sports.
