I have an 87 camaro that I just bought and I am expericening some power loss. Someone told me to try a fuel additive to clean the engine out but all I can find is stuff for fuel injector cleaner. Does anyone have a good product suggestion for a carbarated engine? (sorry not a good speller) I am also experiencing some vibration not sure where from but it it like I am running over a bunch of little bumps all the time while driving and it speeds up with the vehicle speed

try Sea Foam, its been around forever and seems to work the best, that vibration could be bad shocks, but with the power loss I'd fear deeper engine/trans problems

I have never heard of sea foam does it work good? And is it sold at Advance or Auto Zone? Also I dont think there is any deeper problems because the power loss is not significant and the car is 22 years old with the origanl motor so I expect some power loss but could a wheel bearing make the car feel like driving over bumps? I have had one other person say it might be that but I dont know if they really know what they are talking about

its sold at advanced and such, its in a red and white can near the oil usually when you get it fill the cap with the liquid and let it get sucked into a vacuum hose you know goes straight to the carb, then let it run for a bit and give it another cap, you can do that till you're satisfied its pretty clean, and put some in the gas tank, if you want the oil too for good measure, just change the oil fairly soon after because it'll loosen up all the sludge
you should see some huge puffs of dark smoke choke out of the exhaust, that's just the junk being freed, if you don't you might not have needed the cleaning

a wheel bearing could make the car vibrate like hell, grand prix's have that problem a lot I have no idea if they would be the same bearings but they probably are... It is a GM
