WARRANTY FOR PICK-UP TRUCK S-10 2000 CHEVY
WHEN I CLUTCH IN AND TRY TO GO TO 1ST GEAR IT WILL NOT GO IN IF TRUCK IS OFF AND I PUT IN 1ST GEAR AND START TRUCK IT TAKES OFF WHAT IS THIS CLUTCH OR TRANSMISSION OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT

newer cars have "anti-idiot" proofing.  don't get into first when the car is off and don't start it in gear.  you shouldn't do that to a standard anyway  ::)

Are there any other problems with shifting between gears after you get it started?  Or have you driven it at all since this problem began?  Sounds like the slave or master cylinder for the clutch is leaking...check the clutch fluid level, and if its full, its an internal seal leaking and losing pressure, if its really low, its an external leak and should be relatively easy to find.
