Hello I am new to this site, Just like to say hello to everyone.
Anyways I have a 2000 K2500 that i am at wits end with. I have been having rear brake issues for quite sometime.I have replaced the cylinders, pads, drums adjusters and all hardware. However What seems to happen is When i take the brakes apart and inspect them everything looks good.I will put them together and adjust them out. they will work good for probably 10 miles but then I will start to get major pulsation in the rear brake to the point where the whole truck with shake. THe rear brakes will then squeal and lock towards the end of your stop. It almost feels like something is out of balance because i always feel a slight vibration. I just have the driveshaft balanced and u joints replaced as well. If anyone may have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

it sounds like multiple issues...get the rotors turned that might have somthin to do with the vibration in slowing down and the wheels balanced...that should take care of the constant vibration.

I don't know if your particular vehicle has a 2 piece drive shaft,it probably does, but you're the second one in these forums in recent months to have exactly the same problem after having had u joints and driveshaft work done, the first one was a Toyota, and i suggested that the front and rear driveshafts were out of phase, and that indeed was the problem. On a 2 piece driveshaft,if you are at one end of the driveshaft, you should be able to sight down the tubes, much like firing a rifle, and see all the u joint caps lined up in unison. If not,the front and rear tubes are out of phase. If that's not the problem, likely trouble with the anti lock brakes in the rear?

Actually it is a single shaft. It has rear drums that I just put on in less than 1000 miles ago. The drums get very hot as well, almost like the shoes are hanging up. I dont get any pulsation until the drums get hot. I suppose it would be possible to get out of round drums out of the box. But the fact that it isnt pulsating all the time throws up a red flag.
