20 w 50 is TOO thick for use with a hydraulic tappet camshaft.20 w 50 or straight 50w should ONLY be used with a mechanical flat tappet,or mechanical roller cam.The oil is TOO thick in viscosity for hydraulic lifters. If the engine is stock with the stock camshaft, stick to 5 w or 10 w 30 or 40 weight oil.5 w 30 is the reccommendation, but for hot weather 10 w 40 works better.20 w 50 is simply too thick, the lifters will rattle something terrible on initial cold start up.
