so i have a 97 camaro, not SS, not RS, not z28, just plain old camaro with a 3.8L v6... 3800 series.. single exhaust etc

it threw a rod a while back and since then the 6th cylinder has seized so theres no point in attempting to work on the block and what not, so my question to you is this

how hard would it be to go from the 3.8 v6 to a 5.7 v8?
what sort of work would i have to do as far as engine mounts, and exhaust work etc.?

IDK for sure, but since the LT1 was an option in the 97, it shouldn't be that difficult.

The 6 cylinder trans and rear axle will be wilting under the new found power of the 350.I think the axle assembly is totally different from V6 to V8,the 6 cylinder axle is very small and weak.Yes,the engine will go right in with the mounts and exhaust, but the 6 cylinder PCM and harness won't work on the 5.7.If automatic trans, the trans will bolt up between the different engines.Again, you would need the same computer and harness from the 5.7 for the trans too.
