I have a 1975 Chevy Truck. Someone stole the starter by way of wire cutters. There are several wires down there, but one has stumped me. There is an orange wire, about 14 gauge, that is stamped "FUSEABLE LINK". Where does it go and what does it do? The truck will start without it being hook to anyhting. I appreciate any info. Thanks.
Note: The other wires down there are purple and red, they are already in place though.

The fuseable link is just what it sounds like. It is a wire that is also a fuse. It will burn up (for the most part harmlessly) if too much power is drawn through it. It is a safety feature that should not be bypassed if you need to replace it. It usually goes to an alternator.

i had to start some cars like that, mine including, you cross constant power and starter relay wire, it is starts with wirecutters and not with a key, look for poor contacts, and damaged wiring, if it does start with a key sometimes, than starter is bad,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Should the orange wire attach to the starter as well? With the purple? Red and Black? or on alone? There is still a terminal on the solenoid with nothing on it. Thanks again for the help.

That one is best left to a wiring diagram. It is different for every vehicle, especially wire colors.
