Howdy
I have a 90 Chevy G30 van and want to install a factory speed control. Got from a junk yard the servo/module/harness for a factory system. I've installed this but so far haven't been able to make it do anything. I've gone throught the checkout proceedure for the servo and it works and am pretty sure the voltages are all ok. The on/off switch puts the right voltages on it and the set and resume buttons seem to also apply 12 volts to the correct pins.
It appears that that the digital ratio adapter is different, if you have a speed control. The DRA originally on the van didn't seem to have anything on the PC card pin that is used for the speed info. The yellow wire. I have another that I got from the junk yard and it seems to have things on that pin. Still doesn't play.
So my questions are:
What is the signal that the module is looking for? Is it rail to rail or some other level? Mitchel just says look for 1.5 to 3 volts dc while wheels are turning at a 10 mph rate. Not much help. Mine doesn't seem to do that so I may have to add a resister or something to give it the correct levels. Problem is what are the correct levels?
My module box has a sticker that says BD on it and my motorhome, that doesn't have an electric speedo so no ratio adaptor, has a DA sticker on it. The MOHO has a pickup on the back of the speedo head.
Any info about all this or where I can go to get it, would be appreciated.
