Lately when I change from Park to Revers there is a clicking noise(don't know where it's coming from, just thought it might be the transmission) and from reverse to drive. It doesn't make the clicking noice when i change from reverse to park or from drive to park. The shifts are smooth, which is making me wonder what it could possibly be. Thanks for any help!

Check the u joints in the driveshaft, and the amount of freeplay in the rear axle, and if it's 4WD,check the transfer case fluid level.I have seen noises from transfer cases when the chain becomes stretched out to the extreme.Best way to diagnose it is a helper in the truck,up in the air on a drive on rack, and duplicating the noise,it can be isolated to an area of concern.

its rwd, 1998 camaro z28. I'm going to try to get to my dad's friend, but it probably won't be for a little while, if things stay the same should it be alright to drive with it. Again the shifts are smooth and seem fine, it's just when i go from park to reverse, from revers to drive, and from drive to reverse. O and also sometimes, but not all the time when i go from a stop light and push on the gas.

check motor and tranny mounts, this also happens when your idle is a bit too high,
