Real quick heres a lil backround on whats going on. My gf and I were just getting ready to move to VA and her wheel bearings went bad. So I replaced both of those and everything was great for a few days. Then the passenger side front wheel started making a pretty loud screeching noise from somewhere in that area. I jacked the front end of of car up a little just enough to get jack stands under it to support it. I went to start the car so I could put it in gear and listen to the noise with the front end up in th air. The car would not start. It will turn over all day long but not start. Well with a malibu thats had a decently log life of almost 140,000 I checked a few obvious things. It didnt seem like it was getting sufficient fuel for one thing. Spark plugs looked a little white to me but someone advised me thats normal. So I replaced the fuel pump and we still got nothing, the only CEL we ever had for it was the abs sensor which was fixed when we replaced the bearings. It has to be something electrical correct? I cant imagine that the car finally puked out after simply lifting the front end up. It ran perfect just a couple minutes before that.

Id really appreciate some insite here on this issue. Its driving me crazy having a car just sitting in NY. I would really like to get it sold. Thanks in advance guys.

Check for fire, if that is good check fuel pressure.

Getting a spark?

What about the fuel injectors, are they spraying?

Yes, me and my other brother checked that yesterday..

It turns over, it sounds like it's just about to catch but then it bogs out..

Are the injectors actually working though? Because - if the mist is not fine enough, giving enough atomization, it won't ignite.

Well it stands to reason if your getting good fuel and fire then it must be a timing or compression problem.

So get a gauge and remove ALL the spark plugs and see what you come up with.

My brother says that the injectors are fine..

i think maybe its a bad relay
or a crankshaft position sensor, it only costs 20 bucks

Is the anti-theft light on? If so, turn the key to the on position for 10 minutes (or until it goes off), turn the key off then restart.
