Friend of mine offered me a 87 Camaro to buy, it smokes black smoke so it means it burns oil, so either need a engine rebuild or new engine. But i was jw if there would be room for a v8 in it? i havn't seen it yet but will tomorrow. right now it has a 2.8L V6... kinda small in my opinion, but was thinking of making it a little project car?

First of all, BLACK smoke indicates a fuel problem. Burning oil creates a lighter bluish smoke.
Secondly, the 1987 Camaro had V-8 options from the factory. i.e. Z-28.
I have a 1987 305 V-8 Camaro that will be used as a donor car for one of my projects sitting outside the shop right now.
