so about 1 yr ago my 01 camato started to have problems and i was told the lifters were getting stuck and making this wierd clacking noise that sounded kinda like a diesel truck.anyways i left it along for a while since i didnt have the money to fix , and now when i turn it on the oil meter goes all the way up and my oil filter rubber washer blew and spilled oil everywhere.
any ideas on whats wrong or what i can do to get oil to get to norm?

3.8 v6 3500 or 350 i should say.

3.8 V6, 3500, and 350 are three entirely different engines. Which is it?

3.8 V6 = Base Camaro engine
3500 = Base 2006 Monte Carlo engine
350 = Carburated small-block chevy which you probably don't have in that Camaro.

well i know its 3.8 v6 but on top of the engine it says 3500 which i thought that might be the engine size or something my bad but i guess its the base 3.8 v6
