So I have a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. its got a 4G63 Turbo V4 in it, shipped from Japan. The tranny is 3 speed automatic. I wanna switch to a 5 speed. Does this mean I need to pay to import a 5 speed tranny? Eclipses are very very rare in my area, and I wouldn't find one in a junkyard. Is it possible I take a 5 speed Tranny from a Eagle Talon to use? Would it fit? thanks. I appretiate any help any of you guys can give me.

there was hundreds of ppl with that question here, all got the same answer, get a car with manual, it'll be cheaper, you have no idea what is involved.

yes a talon would also work because basically SAME car
yes a talon would also work because basically SAME car
it's a little more complicated than just swapping a tranny. he'd need the stick car ecu as well, i believe. and if it's a jspec engine, i'm sure he'd need the jspec 5spd ecu
also...it's not a damn v4
