Ok i have a 97 mitsubishi eclipse GS and i found a guy who is selling a wrecked 97 GSX with a 16g turbo. He ran off the road. There is no damage to the engine except the intercooler it is bent up it will start up so it will need a new one and on the side the body is all dented up so i was wondering if i could put the fender and the doors hood and bumper from my car on it and paint the whole thing. is this a good idea or a bad one and how much should i pay

You should sell it and buy a real car if you want to go fast.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
However, I hope you dont plan on turning this into a sports car, because if the frame is damaged it will never be the same.

use your car to mod, use wrecked one for parts.
otoh if you can bring a good body man to look for frame damage, you'll see right away if it is worth buying

The car sounds totalled to me (e.g. cost to repair >> book value). Although it sounds tempting, you'd likely be better off selling your GS and spending whatever salvage value the guy would take and just buy a decent condition GSX. Cannibalizing your running car makes no sense to me and would end up costing you alot more than the above.
Then again, check out the local boneyards or DSM forums for parts. If the car is straight, a few panels and paint might be worth it (if you are handy and have the time/budget).

they bend like tin foil+1 on that! The frames are sh*t on these cars.
Have someone from a body shop look at the frame...and look over the whole car before you decide. There can always be engine damage that wasn't obvious at first glance. A loose bolt, a bent turbo fin, or a kinked pipe or hosing line can = big trouble.

Depending on how much you want to spend the intercooler is rather expensive and a somewhat bitch to install so id just buy a kit for your car if you can
