My 90 Eclipse seems to have a grinding issue when shifting into 2nd gear only to include downshifting into 2nd. I have already bled the clutch master cyl, and that seems to have eased it a bit but still grinds. My next step will be to drain and refill the transfer case just because I have no idea when if ever it has been changed.
Any other ideas would be apreciated
Thanks

Sounds like the syncro is going/gone.
my mistake what I meant was without pulling motor
Yes you can (http://www.vfaq.com/mods/clutch-1G.html)
Stock 1G Trannies are very notchy in second as didn't have a dual syncro second gear so is a common upgrade to have one put in. Unfortunately, that is not something your local trans repair shop will likely want to be involved with since involves non-OEM parts (though they can do it).
There are several good DSM Tranny Shops around that can do a basic rebuild or 1000WHP+ Race Build and/or sell you the parts needed to rebuild (including the upgraded parts):
sheptrans.com (Ohio)
dogboxracing.com (New Jersey)
teamrip.com (Michigan)
JNZtuning.com (Philly)
turbotrix.com (New Jersey)
BTW, you may want to register to one of the "DSM-specific" forums and seek out answers as well since most questions you've asked have been covered in great detail.

Thanks for the info, I thought I was posting these questions on a DSM link. I am not a forum fanatic so this is all kind of new to me. Although, the responses I have recieved have all seemed to be helpfull in one direction or another.
Can you being the owner of a 1990 TSI-AWD suggest a good site.
Thanks again
