I gave read that the factory installed faulty capacitors in my years ECU. I guess from what they said is that the capacitors rupture and leak causing corrosion on the circuit board. If this is the case can or would this cause an electrical component to lets say stay engaged causing drainage of the battery.

Thanks:rockon:

If the 3 ECU caps have not been replaced at this point then I give you a 100% chance that they are leaking and possibly damaging the board traces. Common symptoms are an intermittant clicking comming from under the radio (the MPI relay switching on/off) and/or a foul sulfur odor coming from the ECU box.

If you want somone to look it over to determine condition, looking for an inexpensive professional repair or if you just want to be safe and have the caps replaced.. contact Steve (http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/Index.html) as he does excellent work.

Check the amperage leaving the battery with car off. Wait a 5-10 minutes after the car is off to allow all the modules to finish their diagnostics and enter sleep mode.
