I have a 1938 chev business coupe that has been sitting in a garage for 40 years.

Engine started right up but 2 of the valves were stuck at the beginning so thier push rods bent.

I unstuck the valves easily with a rubber mallet. Now I need two 13 inch long push rods.

Local auto parts stores have 1938 push rods but they are 10 1/2 inchs long. They can't seem to locate push rods by thier length.

Either the 1938 6 cylinder engine was modified somehow with longer push rods ... or it is an older engine that looks the same as a 38.

Anyone know of ... likely a chevy motor ... that has 13 inch push rods so I can use that info to order lifter push rods?

Or know an online place that has enough know how to find and sell me 13 inch push rods?

Or if you have a couple laying about the garage you don't need?

Thanks,

have a machine shop turn you some on the lathe.

Most engine builders - especially the high-performance builders - can provide a "make-your-own" kit consisting of tubing and ends that you cut and assemble to the length you need.

Check the rodding magazines for engine parts places like PAW.
