Whats up everyone Im new here :welcome: and had some questions sorry if it takes me a minute to get used to this forum. My dads got a 2002 Chevy Malibu, most likely I will recieve this car in a couple months an I was wondering what are some engine upgrades I could do to it? A few pple I have recently asked told me that theyre is practically nothing as for engine upgrades to this car.... but I figured I would join a forum an ask around.

i'd advise against any real modifications, especially if it's not the v6.

friend has one, it already gets low 20's in mpg if you baby it

heheh, my parents just got back from a week long trip and said their rental car was a new malibu.....they hated the thing.

but yeah, what's under the hood?

Im not sure the liters but Im positive its the V6... As of now he gets about 27 mpg. I dont want to fix it up a lot or anything just enough to have some fun with until I get the car I want.

Yea I guess... I really want a Impala SS or Monte Carlo SS.

The best thing you can do with that car is to put your money in the suspension. Even if it goes fast your never gonna get the car to turn. Get the car to handle good and you will have more fun with it than you would if you put all of your money into the motor.

you think that's the best? the most sensible thing to do would be to save the money, especially since they don't plan on keeping the car.

are you sure about that 27mpg? epa has it rated for 18/26, but that's with the new standard. just seems a little odd though, since most people struggle to get 2-4 under the epa rating
