i recently got in an accident and my drivers side door is smashed in. im about to buy a new door but i don't know how to take off or put on the new one and i dont want to pay for the labor. could anyone explain to me how? i have a '97 chevy s-10 and it has manual everything. thanks

If I remember correctly, the door pins can just be tapped out with a hammer, but I may be wrong. If you cannot open the door, try removing the fender for access to the hinges.

I just went out in the parking lot and looked at an s-10. They have the hinges welded to the door, and to the body of the truck. So just unbolting them is not an option. However the doors are held on with steel pins. You can just take the retainer off that holds the pin and hammer the pin out. I strongly recommend getting new brass bushings too. they are VERY prone to wearing out. That is what makes the end play in your door. I work at a GM dealership and we do one of those a week.
