no question . the engine. b/c obviously if your going to drive it the engine needs to run well, whereas the body doesnt have a say in that. at least thats what id do

First thing i would do is do a good thorough look over. Most of the blazers that i come across are just about rotted in half. I have replaced the floors on almost all of them. Make sure there is not going to be any surprise rust. What is the motor and trans? If the motor needs a rebuild i would bet that the trans could use one too being that old.

Got to love the south, we dont rust as much as the north. No snow and ice means no salt. I had a 76 C-10. It was a beast, very clean and no rust.

I have never seen a rust free 70's truck that was all original. My daily driver is a 93 k1500. I have put a new bed on it, front inner and outer fenders, and two cab corners. I have also had to weld up a section of the frame. I still need a new radiator core support. its so rotten that when i put the truck in reverse the whole nose flexes and the fan hits the shroud.

salt really screws up the cars by me, and there is not much owner can do to stop it, however, my old american cars never had rust, i did spray ruberized compaund, but not on suspention and exhuost, my 2006 honda on the other hand has some rust spots on few suspention parts, only surfice rust , but still the car isn,t even 2 years old, my 87 olds was rust free, and 96 olds also had no rust , chevy had a little surfice rust under the car,
a friend of mine had old rwd maxima, that shitbucket was so rusted, you couldn,t jack it up, the jack would go right thru. but ironicly everything mechanikal worked like a clock, until his brakes went, and no mechaniks wanted to work on it, some were even afraid to put it on the lift(i don,t blame them).

Then you have never been to Texas...The lone start state FTW.

The more i hear about the south the less i like living here. The only real reason that i haven't moved yet is that i live right in the middle of four race tracks. I can watch circle track racing four nights a week every week in the summer. If i can ever get weekends off i can start racing again.

From my house in 45 mins there are four tracks too. Two drag 1/8 mile and two round the dirts. Ennis is only 55 mins away for the full 1320. Redline does friday night run what you brung. Thinking about getting a time slip for the SS.

How about an update on the project? How is it going? When are you gonna cut out the front suspension and swap in an axle?
