whats the goods and bads about having a short shift kit on my eclipse

Most of the time I'd advise on keeping stock shifter heights. They are usually engineered to have good leverage from the factory and the shift may be longer, but it is easier to do because of how the shifter is balanced on the arm. Short throw kits can make the throw shorter but you also have a shorter pivot point, making it harder to shift. It depends on preferences I guess.
