Ravant has made several posts referring to autocross Fieros with GM LE5's that can pull 1.3 lateral g's with near perfect 50/50 weight balances. Stick a V8 in there and you lose that balance and can only pull around 1.1 g's. A turbo'd LE5 can make as much power as a stock LS1 easily, rendering one in a Fiero as just sort of incredible. The V8 would slow it down with the unbalance, even if it had more power. But by that point too much power can be a problem, and you only end up using a fraction of it anyway.

I believe thats a lot faster then a honda civic stock.. they run what.. 17's?? from the factory. Cars just aren't built like they were used to.. and i envy anyone who got to live in that time period.

And with the big issue on the 90-94 eclipse (the ones that started all this) the part of the front bumper under the headlights sticks out about 3 inches fron the stock talon 1g bumper, they have diffrent wheels, the talons had a gloss black top, and the biggest one of all, the eclipses had bars going across the doors and moving into the bumpers. and if u've been around them enough u'd notice that they have subtle diffrences that make them the're own, a talon tends to be a little highter with a more "i'll just kick ur ass" stance, and the eclipse seems to say "i might kick u ass, but i'll still look better" bu being lower and in the 94 to 98 years they had and angled rear end that the talon NEVER had, so to sum up chances are u could switch the badges and fool alot of people but to me u'll still be a poser

That is very true. But a V8 configuration offers the best compromise in terms of absolute power potential, reciprocating mass, displacement, and durability. So a V8 is still the best overall design.

anyway i found a 92 240 hatch for $800, and i just got delivery of an older chev pick up with a running 350 small block for free so the mating prosess in about 3 weeks, but the car won't be on the road untill late december cuase my only resource is my school automotive shop. also i'm lookin for a coupe of turbos that flow 6-700 cfm and can run 7-8 pounds of boost all day, and a 2-way LSD any thoughts or if u know of any keep me posted thanx
